Lightning Strike

This rod is a prize in the Sage historical collection. The owner apparently left it leaning against a tree during a terrific thunderstorm. The tree was struck by lightening and this is the result. The resin that binds the graphite fibers together was mostly vaporised leaving the graphite fibers. The bindings remain. Incredibly the light jumped when it hit the ferrule. I don't know if this is a source of comfort ie that it isn't going to reach your hand but I doubt it. I reckopn its best to leave the rod by itself lying on the ground in the middle of an open paddock. If you're in a boat start doing yoga exercises so your lips can reach your arse and give it a kiss goodbye! Only joking, lay the rods down in the boat and get out of there.
