How to put braided mono loops onto running lines such as Cobra
Use 50lb Braided mono on 50lb Cobra and 35 lb BM on 30lb Cobra.
Make a braided loop leaving a tag section around 15 cms long
Scuff the mono running line with 320 - 800 grade wet and dry paper - this is to remove the slickness of the finish and to give the adhesive a rough surface to stick to. You only need to scuff 15cms of the end of the running line.
Poke the running line (Cut the end of it to a point) right up inside the braided mono into the tag end trapped inside that forms the loop - get it in there as far as you can.
Soak this in Loktite. This locks the tag end of the running into the braid.
You can now slide the braid right up the running line exposing the area you have sanded - coat this in Pliobond - Tarzans Grip - or whatever you prefer to use (Selleys Urethane bond has let me down) and then slide the braid back over the running line.
This allows you to get a really good amount of glue in between the braid and the running - run your fingers over this and give it another coating from the outside.
Whip finish the end with a Bobbin and thread - coat this in Pliobond as well.
Done.
